The Dream Lives On – A personal tribute to the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

They silenced his voice, but they could not silence his message. That message states that all men are created equal in the eyes of God, they should be treated equal in the hearts and societies of man. Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. would be 83 on January 15, 2012, had he not been taken from us. He was shot because some people didn’t like his message, nor that it was spreading all over the United States. Dr. King preached for racial equality for all people, tolerances for all people, and peace and for justice for all people.

A Christmas Photo Retouch

Anytime you can get family together is a perfect opportunity for a photograph, even when it’s a company holiday party. But does the picture have to look like it was taken at a company holiday party? No!

A little Photoshop magic, and your impromptu family picture can take on a whole new look. With the picture above, I I really like the family and the tree, but I didn’t like the chair full of personal items, and I didn’t like the man walking through the door in the background. There were a few other minor issues, such as light glare off the young man’s glasses.

Christmas Recommendation: The Kindle Fire from Amazon

If you are looking for a great gift idea for someone who really enjoys reading, watching movies, listening to music, and surfing the web, may I suggest a Kindle Fire from Amazon?

The Kindle Fire is truly an amazing little unit!  I was stunned at how brilliant and crisp the display is, and how fast and functional it is. Having never played with a Kindle fire, I easily navigated through its many features and configured it to connect to a secured wireless network without even looking at the documentation. The Kindle Fire is so easy to use; anyone from a child to a great-grandparent can use it.

Amazon MP3 Christmas Music Specials

It’s the Holiday season and Christmas is right around the corner. Yes, that’s right, I said Christmas. In fact, let me just say right here that I wish you and yours a Very Merry Christmas! How’s that for being politically correct?
I’m sure that everyone who has ever surfed the web, watched TV, or has been alive since 1980 knows what about Amazon.com. We all know they sell books, but did you know that they also sell great music? Oh yes! And even better, you can buy it in MP3 format and without the digital rights restrictions. You can buy it and play it immediately, right now, on your computer, MP3 player, smart phone, or any device that will play MP3′s. I’ve been buying my music from Amazon.com since they started selling music in MP3 format, and I couldn’t be happier a happier customer.

Amazing Halloween House Display

I have seen a lot of really cool Halloween decorations, but this wins the trophy. I would love to see how this was set up!

Humor: Spoofed Holiday Music

It’s getting around that time of year again. the stores are stocking their Holiday wares, and I expect them to start filling our ears and hearts with Christmas music. I expect Starbucks to start their Holiday specials any time now. I love those pumpkin lattes!

In the Spirit of the Holidays, I like to share a little humor with some of the funniest Holiday Music spoofs.  Now, be careful before playing these Holiday tunes at work or around sensitive ears, as they might find these tunes inappropriate or even offensive. I’ve marked these as Not Safe For Work  (NSFW). These files are in MP3 format, and should play on any media player or device that plays MP3 files.

People fail to get along because they fear each other; they fear each other because they don’t know each other; they don’t know each other because they have not communicated with each other. — Martin Luther King Jr.
