Google Wallet Launches Today
I myself am not a fan of smart phone technology for two reasons, security and privacy. So, I won’t be subscribing to Google Wallet anytime soon. But if you feel comfortable with the idea of storing your credit card information on your smart phone, you may like Google Wallet.
“Google Wallet has been designed for an open commerce ecosystem. It will eventually hold many if not all of the cards you keep in your leather wallet today. And because Google Wallet is a mobile app, it will be able to do more than a regular wallet ever could, like storing thousands of payment cards and Google Offers but without the bulk. Eventually your loyalty cards, gift cards, receipts, boarding passes, tickets, even your keys will be seamlessly synced to your Google Wallet. And every offer and loyalty point will be redeemed automatically with a single tap via NFC. ”
Google Wallet officially launches today. Although, there doesn’t look like there are a lot of retail places to use it at the moment. Among the places where you will be able to use Google Wallet will be Foot Locker, Guess, Jamba Juice, Macy’s, Peets Coffee & Tea, RadioShack, Subway, Toys-R-Us, and Walgreens, and anywhere the Mastercard PayPass is accepted.
