Website Portfolio

Website development was not something I intended on learning, but necessity will not be ignored, and I needed to be able to update the first website hosted under obrienpc.net that a friend of mine developed for me to get me started. That was back in March of 2001, right after setting up shop as OBrienPC, an onsite technical services company in Greenville Texas. With my friend's help, I was soon navigating my way through HTML at least enough to understand what I was looking at. 

I started working with Adobe's Photoshop to make layouts, cleanup or adjust images, and basically any other graphic you find in a website. I used, and still continue to use, Microsoft FrontPage for building the framework and managing web pages. For a time, I also used some Xara applications to produce dhtml menus, roll-overs, and some 3-D text effects. 

What's that you ask? Do I have any formal education or training in web development? Naw, I'm 100% self taught. I personally never thought that I would become proficient enough or good enough, to where people would actually want to pay me money to build their website. I think I wouldn't mind going to school and learning like PHP programming, building data bases, advanced Photoshop skills, things like that. But that is not today. For now, when I need to learn a technique, I go to Google and study the thousands of great tutorials out on the web. I have even managed to create a few techniques of my own. 

This gallery is a sample of my web development skills. These are all websites for businesses based in Washington. 

	MetalArt Northwest Digital Photography Services -  Mel is a fantastic digital photographer. His website is a show case of his diverse photography talent and skill.
	Ferndale Family Homes - Is a privately owned and operated assisted care nursing home located in Renton Washington. Ferndale Family Homes has a registered nurse on site, and a fully trained staff 24 hours a day. Their website is a virtual tour of their facility.
	Procraft Windows - Procraft windows is located in Shoreline Washington, and they specialize in residential windows and serve customers throughout the Puget Sound area. They a long standing reputation for excellence in products and services, and they wanted their website to match it, and of course, showcase their products and services.
	MetalArt Northwest Metal Fabrication Services - Mel Kite is well know in the Seattle area for his metal skills. This website showcase various projects that Mel has developed, and explains the services that Mel offers.
	Cavanaugh Automotive - On location automotive mechanical services serving Northwest Washington.
	FlexxStaff,  Flexible Staffing Solutions - FlexxStaff provides temporary staffing for companies needing general labor, drivers, or warehouse workers.
	A-1 Best Computer - A-1 Best computer is a small but ambitious family owned computer service and sales business with locations in Seattle and Ballard Washington. They are the only company that I know of that provides component-level repair on notebooks or laptops.
	Soniq Transportation and Warehouse - Based in Kent Washington, Soniq Transportation and Warehouse offer a wide variety of warehouse and delivery services throughout Washington state and northern Oregon.
