We are destroying the Earth, and it is completely our fault

The Earth is 4.6 billion years old. Let’s scale that to 46 years. On that scale, humans have been here for 4 hours. Our industrial revolution began 1 minute ago. In that time, we have destroyed more than 50% of the world’s forests, and added enough greenhouse gases to the atmosphere to throw the Earth into a global warming process that has already caused death and extinction to thousands of plant and animal species, and put thousands of more species at danger of extinction.

Most religions on Earth believe that humans are the stewards of the planet. Commanded by God to care for it and protect it. To this point, we have failed. That means I have failed, and you have failed. We are to blame for this mess whether you want to believe it or not. The evidence is clear and damning; we are guilty of destroying our Earth. We want to blame industry, corporate greed, agriculture, and mother nature; but in truth, we did this, you and I.

If we stopped this path of destruction right now, we can turn it around, but it’s going to take the next 30 generations. That is your children, your grandchildren, your great grandchildren, and so on. If they asked you why you let this happen, and what did you do to stop it, what will you tell them?┬áIf we don’t stop this, they won’t be around to ask us anything. But if we stop destroying the Earth now, and start fixing this mess we have created, we can make a dramatic difference on the world we leave our future generations. Only if we act right now can we save the Earth.
